The National League of Cities (NLC) offers a dynamic, hands-on internship program designed to give students and young professionals real-world experience in public policy, advocacy, communications, research, and municipal operations. As an NLC intern, you’ll work alongside experts and local leaders, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain professional development through workshops, events, and networking opportunities.
With internship tracks ranging from federal advocacy and research to marketing, finance, and human resources, you’ll build valuable skills while making a tangible impact on communities across the country. Most internships are paid, and we support academic credit where applicable.
