Black Male Achievement Conference Convenes In Portland (October 15, 2015)
REAL Director Leon Andrews, Multnomah county liaison for the Black Male Achievement (BMA) Initiative Walter Robinson II, and Wilandrae McCall: a participant in the BMA Portland Summer Youth program speak with Oregon Public Broadcasting about being one of a handful of cities selected by the National League of Cities to take part in the BMA initiative. BMA focuses on employment opportunities for African-American males, engaging young black men, and other equity issues. Representatives from six U.S. cities are meeting Thursday and Friday to brainstorm and share the progress they've made.
