To provide public leaders, especially local elected leaders, with a clear understanding of the nature of ethics in public service, and tools to assist them in making ethical decisions.
To provide a framework for approaching a decision with ethical implications
To introduce a set of useful and well-supported ethical principles as guides for making ethical decisions
To facilitate understanding of ethics by practicing making ethical decisions
- To empower public leaders, especially local elected leaders, not only to be more ethical in their leadership roles, but to be more clearly and overtly ethical, so that those observing their actions will have greater confidence in the integrity of their local government.
Participants will be able to apply a clear understanding of ethical decision making to the decisions they face in office.
- Participants will be able to use a range of principles in deciding and explaining their actions from the standpoint of ethics.
