On Monday, September 20, 2021, the National League of Cities (NLC) released a report on workforce needs and potential challenges that may impede how infrastructure funding priorities can be implemented at the local level.

Dr. Christiana McFarland presented an overview of the report’s findings, followed by a panel discussion with local city leaders, San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Michael Gritton, Executive Director of Kentuckiana Works.

As Congress continues to negotiate infrastructure and budget legislation, including possible funding for workforce investments, this report provides context for the need for workers across sectors to meet the infrastructure needs of American cities, towns and villages.
