It all begins with early childhood success. Studies show that the socio-emotional, physical, and cognitive capacities that are built in the first years of life are all critical for future success in school, the workplace, and the larger community. Inequities within our communities impact our children’s development from the very beginning. For communities to thrive, local leaders must challenge institutional inequities that may arise from the status quo.

This webinar explored how to leverage municipal policies and practices to embed equity into city governance and the early childhood system with the future and communities’ youngest residents in mind. By embedding equity into how cities do business, local leaders will be in a position to equitably rebuild their communities from the ongoing impact of COVID-19 so that all young children and their families may thrive.

This webinar is part of our four-part series in Early Childhood Municipal Policy 101.
