Approximately 3 in 7 (42%) Head Start centers have a public transit stop within walking distance for a toddler (0.2 miles), according to an earlier assessment done on the 16,000+ Head Start centers in the 50 states and District of Columbia by the Civic Mapping Initiative and the National Head Start Association.
