The City of Las Vegas, as part of their participation in the National League of Cities’ Cities Addressing Fines and Fees Equitably (CAFFE) Initiative cohort, reduced the financial burden of code enforcement related fines and fees on its most vulnerable residents. The focus of the city's team was to improve education about the Safe Home Improvements Funding and Training (SHIFT) program and the available repairs fund to help households offset the financial impact of home maintenance fees and prevent incurring code violations. The city estimates that $17,822 of code enforcement related fines and fees debt were reduced for Las Vegas residents.
