March 22, 2024 - (1 min read)

“The National League of Cities supports H. Res. 1121, the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024, and urges all members of Congress to vote yes on passage. Federal government shutdowns, even if partial, place additional burdens on local governments that grow in significance as time passes,” said Clarence Anthony, CEO and Executive Director of the National League of Cities (NLC). “The National League of Cities is grateful for the productive leadership of Speaker Johnson and Leader Schumer throughout the long process to advance bipartisan FY24 appropriations. We also want to express our gratitude to House Appropriations Chair Kay Granger and Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro, Senate Appropriations Chair Patty Murray, and Vice-Chair Susan Collins for their perseverance this year. Local leaders look forward to the enactment of all remaining funding allocated under the second appropriations package.”
