WASHINGTON — October 2, 2017 — Following the news that at least 50 people were killed during a concert in Las Vegas, National League of Cities (NLC) CEO and Executive Director Clarence E. Anthony issued the following statement:
“Today, America’s cities stand with Las Vegas as we mourn the senseless tragedy that occurred last night. We stand with the families of victims who lost their lives, those who are injured, and the brave first responders and local officials who acted swiftly in the face of danger. We are here to support you during this difficult time.
“This horrible act of violence occurred in a unique American community that brings together millions from across the nation and around the world. This act of violence affects us all. On behalf of America’s city leaders, our thoughts and prayers are with Las Vegas.”
