Joshua Pine, Program Manager, Urban Innovation

In his current role, Joshua leads NLC’s data visualization portfolio and manages the dashboards and data tools on the website. His research specialties include how cities leverage data to promote innovative policies with broadband, digital equity, transportation and other sectors. Joshua also works on NLC’s ARPA portfolio researching how cities are using these funds as part of their pandemic recovery efforts with a focus on data-driven decision making, prioritizing equity and inclusive community engagement.

Previously, Joshua worked in the City of South Bend, supporting local government agencies and non-profits on data innovation projects. He conducted data analysis for the Commuters Trust Program as part of the Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Mayors Challenge under Mayor Pete Buttigieg. He also worked with the Michiana Area Council of Governments to use data to prioritize accessible public transportation investments in the region.
