Farhad Kaab Omeyr, Program Director, Research and Data
Farhad’s research focuses on financial management and fiscal policy issues related to state and local governments. He studies municipal capital and infrastructure budgeting and spending, municipal bond markets, municipal tax authorities and fiscal professionalism and best practices. Each year, Farhad plays a key role in the development of NLC’s City Fiscal Conditions and State of the Cities research. Farhad’s dissertation examined the impacts of various socioeconomic and fiscal factors on infrastructure spending and capital budgeting practices of municipal governments.
