Marketing/Communications/Visability

NLC should start:

  • More aggressively marketing the NLC brand to the point of saturation (e.g., similar to AARP, AFL-CIO or Club for Growth)
  • Garnering high visibility press for the President, Officers and/or Executive Director (cable, print, social media)
  • Communicating about all of the work we’re doing
  • Being more visible in DC, showcasing our work and bringing people in to NLC
  • Offering exclusive benefits for members
  • Identifying where city officials go for news (Governing, Planetizen. or Atlantic Cities vs. NY Times Politico, etc.)

NLC should stop:

  • Sending different messages to different audiences
