Updated January 2026
By statute, municipalities must continue submitting reports for the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) through 2027. Some communities that have fully expended their funds have already been invited to close out early, and more are expected to receive that option this year.
To prepare your community for early closeout, review NLC’s How to Prepare for ARPA Closeout guide.
