NLC is closely monitoring the federal shutdown and advocating for the continuation of government operations. Urge Congress to reopen the federal government by signing on to our Quorum action. »

Widespread extreme heat across the United States and recent wildfires spotlights the urgent need for comprehensive action to protect residents and communities. As wildfires become more frequent and destructive due to prolonged droughts and extreme heat, local governments must prioritize not only immediate response efforts, but long-term recovery and nature-based resilience planning to reduce future fire risk.

Join the National League of Cities and ICF as we launch a new Wildfire Resilience Toolkit for Local Governments. The toolkit will highlight potential co-benefits of mitigation measures, identify beneficial emerging technologies and outline technical approaches to evaluate present and future wildfire risk and broadly applicable mitigation strategies for building wildfire resilience.

This webinar will feature local government successes and challenges with risk assessment, wildfire response and recovery, emerging technologies, and nature-based resilience planning.
