Combined Railroad Crossing Elimination (RCE) and Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) grant programs support infrastructure upgrades to improve safety and mobility at rail crossings. This workshop will help cities navigate RCE/CRISI applications, aligning local rail safety goals with eligible projects like track relocation, protective devices, and environmental audits.

About Local Infrastructure Hub (LIH)

The Local Infrastructure Hub (LIH), led by the National League of Cities and supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, provides free, expert-led training and resources designed to guide cities through every stage of the federal grant process, from application development to successful implementation and compliance. To date, LIH has supported over 1,240 cities with various levels of experience and has helped over 420 participating cities secure federal funding totaling more than $4.6 billion. This fall, new workshops will focus on funding opportunities for clean energy, brownfields, and safe streets, along with a dedicated bootcamp to help cities implement and manage awarded federal grants.

Bootcamps are multi-week, cohort-based programs that guide participants through the full application or implementation process, including support on procurement, compliance, and federal reporting. Workshops are high-value half-day sessions that focus on specific federal grant programs, helping cities sharpen core skills and understand the technical requirements needed to apply for or implement funding effectively. All programs are completely free, and no prior grant writing experience is required.
