A Hearty Texas Welcome from the City of Austin
The City of Austin looks forward to welcoming Congress of Cities participants this week to the Live Music Capital of the World®! The Texas capital is a vibrant city with something for everyone, whether you prefer paddling a lake, wandering a museum, or enjoying live music at a bar or coffee shop. Austin is the 11th largest U.S. city and growing every day, making it a fascinating place to visit. It's a tech hub and a haven for local businesses - known for both its rich history and forward-thinking outlook.
Austin is thrilled to host the 2014 Conference and to show off this remarkably diverse community committed to sustainability, small business protection, technological innovation, and a thriving arts & culture scene.
The conference includes sessions and learning opportunities including specific conference workshops, mobile workshops, and NLC University seminars. Outside of the sessions, there will be countless opportunities not only to meet and build relationships but also to see a bit of city.
Don't forget to sign up for one of the many spouse tours if you haven't done so already, and definitely don't miss the closing party at the world famous Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum featuring two fantastic local Austin Musicians - Grupo Fantasma and Los Lonely Boys.
Once again, we welcome you to Austin - we look forward to creating a memorable experience both in and out of the conference.
