Now that the FY2026 appropriations process is underway, cities can begin checking which Community Project requests (also called Earmarks or Congressionally Directed Spending) were submitted by the appropriations committees.
Below, please find links to the community projects by committee. The House and Senate will continue to release their bills over the next month, so continue to check back if the bill you are looking for hasn’t been released yet!
Cities can begin preparing now for FY2027 Community Project requests. The application period is set by individual Senators and Congressional Members but is typically open for 2-3 weeks in January or February. We encourage cities to use the summer and fall to identify a priority project, build relationships with your Members of Congress and begin drafting the proposals before the end of the year.
