Gone Virtual: 2020 City Summit

It’s official! I’m excited to announce that the 2020 City Summit conference is going virtual!

The decision to go virtual with our largest event of the year was not taken lightly.  We have been closely monitoring the ever-changing situation throughout the country, keeping track of state and local guidance, and most importantly, keeping the health and safety of our members and staff in the forefront of every decision.

We had hoped to be gathering in Tampa this November but after consulting with Mayor Castor and her team, we made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone our visit to their great city.  To those that were looking forward to spending time in the wonderful city of Tampa – don’t worry! We’ll see you in there in 2024 where we will celebrate NLC’s 100th Anniversary!

While I’m disappointed, we won’t be seeing each other in person, I am thrilled to share this truly one-of-a-kind City Summit experience with you. This year, City Summit will come to you! Connect with your colleagues virtually from your own hometown. While still learning best practices, discovering new resources and attending your favorite workshops, and never having to leave your community.

Our team is hard at work developing engaging workshops and sessions, with the additional opportunity this year to record and share all the content (it will be available for up to six months after the conference!). And do expect lots of opportunities to connect and network with peers, familiar and new. We are planning an affair that will inspire you and celebrate your leadership.

While the pandemic has changed the world, it has not changed NLC’s commitment to you as a municipal leader. NLC is dedicated to bringing you the best City Summit experience where you will still get to connect with friends and see familiar faces. Now, more than ever, it’s important to connect with colleagues and share knowledge and insights to help each other through these trying times.

As always, register early to get the best pricing! Early Bird Pricing lasts through September 30th. For more information, visit the conference website. We can’t wait to see you in November. Log on and log in with the National League of Cities 2020 City Summit.
