Federal Relations Resources & Updates
The National League of Cities offers tools and resources to help city officials stay current on legislative action in Washington and become informed, active advocates in their hometowns.
The Federal Relations Update is an NLC e-newsletter summarizing the latest Capitol Hill and Administration activity. The newsletter is distributed biweekly while Congress is in session, providing timely information about federal legislative, regulatory, and legal developments impacting local governments.
The National Municipal Policy is a compilation of federal policy positions adopted by the full NLC membership. These positions focus on federal actions, programs, and legislation that directly impact municipalities and guide all of NLC's federal advocacy efforts. View the 2011 National Municipal Policy, as adopted at the 2010 Congress of Cities and Exposition in Denver, Colorado.
NLC has created a guide filled with tips and tools for advocacy both in Washington and at home—critical to strengthening the partnership between municipalities and the federal government.
