Cooper Martin
Director, Sustainability & Solutions

Cooper Martin is an expert in sustainable urban policy and non-profit program management. He currently serves as the director of Sustainability & Solutions within the Center for City Solutions at the National League of Cities, where he works with mayors, council members and other local leaders throughout the U.S. to catalyze, support and celebrate city-led sustainability efforts.

Cooper has more than ten years of experience working with local, state and federal government on a topics such as climate resilience, transportation, water management, energy, community development, and disaster mitigation.

Prior to joining NLC, he held multiple positions in government and community relations at the American Institute of Architects and worked one legislative session in the Kansas House of Representatives. Cooper’s educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in political science and international studies from the University of Kansas and a Master's in Public Policy from American University.
