Put on Your Dancing Shoes: Two Grammy-winning Bands Announced for Austin Closing Event

Keep the energy going on Saturday, November 22 when the Congress of Cities ends with a spectacular celebration. After the sessions on Saturday the Live Music Capital of the World® will continue to deliver the finest in entertainment. The closing party at the world famous Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum will feature not one, but two outstanding, Grammy-winning Texas musical acts -- Grupo Fantasma and Los Lonely Boys.

Grupo Fantasma is a 9-piece band formed in Austin in 2000. Their energetic Latin style is impossible to listen to without moving to the beat. Their impressive international resume includes stage and festival appearances at Bonnaroo, North Sea Jazz Festival and Lowlands in the Netherlands, Kennedy Center, London's O2 Arena, Montreal Jazz Festival, WOMEX, Tempo Latino (France) as well as two tours to Kuwait and Iraq to entertain US troops. You may have also heard their music on hit TV shows like Breaking Bad, Weeds, Ugly Betty, and Law & Order, among others.

As if this wasn't enough excitement for one night, you'll also have the opportunity to dance along to the infectious music of Los Lonely Boys that's described on their website as a "melodic mix of bluesy rock 'n' roll and rootsy brown-eyed soul." You may know them for their hit single "Heaven," but you'll love all the music from talented brothers Henry, Jojo, and Ringo. Originally from Texas, the brothers relocated with their family to Nashville as children, where they got their start in music, but have since moved back to Texas, where they've released numerous albums and have collaborated with the likes of Willie Nelson and Santana.

While you enjoy the exceptional Texas musical talent, don't forget to take in your surroundings! The presidential library is an iconic ten-story building designed by award-winning architect Gordon Bunshaft and features a Great Hall with a stunning four-story, glass-encased view of the archives collection. It will provide the perfect backdrop for both bands to showcase their albums while you dance the night away. Tours of the museum will be offered throughout the evening and dinner will feature the finest Tex-Mex and BBQ food served buffet-style.
