National League of Cities Statement on Recent Tornadoes and Severe Weather

Washington, D.C. - National League of Cities President Chris Coleman, Mayor of Saint Paul, Minn., issued the following statement on the severe weather that continues to affect residents across the U.S.:

"The devastating storm system that continues to threaten a large swath of the country has wrecked lives, destroyed homes and ruined businesses. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims as they move now to rebuild their communities.

"We send our gratitude to the first responders and to those that will help communities rebuild, repair and recover in the days and weeks ahead. Recovery is always a difficult process, but those impacted by the storms should know that the nation supports their efforts and is with them at this difficult time."
