Good360 to Host Fourth Annual Service Project at Congress of Cities
In addition to learning more about the latest products, services and ideas at the National League of Cities’ Congress of Cities and Exposition’s exhibit hall in Seattle this year, attendees will have the opportunity to spend a few minutes of their time helping out those in need.
For the fourth year in a row, Good360, a national non-profit leader in facilitating corporate product donations to charities, will host a service project “kitting” event at the Congress of Cities. Attendees will have the opportunity to assemble personal care kits for veterans in the exhibit hall from 9:00am - 3:00pm on Thursday, November 14. The project is sponsored by The Home Depot Foundation.
Recipients will include Compass Housing Alliance in Renton, WA; Quest Community Development Organization in Atlanta, GA; Lodestar Day Resource Center in Phoenix, AZ; and Maryland Center for Veterans Education and Training in Baltimore, MD.
In previous years, Congress of Cities attendees at have volunteered their time to create thousands of personal care packages that impact thousands of veterans, and have found it to be very rewarding.
This kind of project has an immediate impact on local charities. "Donations like these are always beneficial and well appreciated by our veteran community," says Stephen Cunniff, director of community affairs at the New England Center for Homeless Veterans, an organization that benefitted from the donations last year after NLC’s conference in Boston. "Supply donations made to the center are distributed to over 350 resident veterans and play a vital role in providing for their needs. We are appreciative of the generosity of Good360, NLC conference delegates and The Home Depot Foundation for helping us to meet these needs, which otherwise would not be possible."
If you are interested in participating, please stop by the kitting area in Congress of Cities exhibit hall between 9:00am – 3:00pm on Thursday, November 14.
Tara Laskowski is the Communications and Public Relations Director for Good360.
