Cities Remember 9/11 and the Actions of the First Responders

Washington, D.C. - National League of Cities President Chris Coleman, Mayor of Saint Paul, Minn., issued the following statement on the 13th anniversary of 9/11:

"It has been thirteen years since the tragic events on September 11, 2001 and the unselfish acts of the first responders that day. They showed a measure of dedication and concern for their fellow person that be remembered for decades to come. Today, cities across the nation honor their sacrifice and service. We will never forget that horrible day.

"Last night, the President spoke about recent events around the world that remind us of the need to remain vigilant against threats to our homeland. We will always remember the sacrifices made by the first responders and those of the military who served on that day and continue to serve to support and defend the nation."
