The National League of Cities (NLC) is committed to strengthening and promoting the leadership capacity of our nations’ local city officials.  As part of the NLC Mission to create stronger communities, the Leadership Training Institute (LTI) was established to promote excellence in municipal leadership through high quality education and training programs for local city leaders.

LTI seminars are designed so that participants can build skills, obtain current resources, develop strategies, and engage in small group discussions and exercises with colleagues and peers from other communities across the United States.

All local city officials (elected or appointed) are eligible to apply.  The scholarship covers the $795 registration fee for NLC’s 15th Annual Leadership Summit, “The Art and Practice of Leadership in Local Government,” in Chicago, Illinois
