Cities, towns, and villages are certainly feeling the impacts of the current economic recession -- from severe declines in growth and revenue, to increases in costs and service needs, to record numbers of unemployment and foreclosures. NLC has committed to local economic recovery by forging a renewed intergovernmental partnership, advocating before Congress, conducting research and analysis, helping cities find effective solutions, and challenging cities to lead on these difficult issues.
