Thirty-five communities from across the United States
have been named finalists for the 2007 Awards for Municipal Excellence,
sponsored by the National League of Cities (NLC) and CH2M HILL. The Awards for
Municipal Excellence recognize outstanding programs that improve the quality of
life in America’s
communities.
“The leaders of America’s
cities and towns are some of the best innovators and problem-solvers in the
country because they must deal with the day-to-day challenges their citizens
are facing,” said Donald J. Borut, NLC’s executive director. “The Awards for Municipal Excellence are
one more way NLC helps communities share great ideas and learn from one
another.”
