Tuesday, April 16, at 5:00 p.m. EDT
  • Director Rachel Grady,  Michigan Municipal League's Sean Mann, Mesa, Ariz. Councilmember David Richins  and Stephen Henderson of The Detroit Free Press and Detroit Public Television will participate in the online discussion immediately following the film.

DETROPIA chronicles the impacts of global competition, changes in demographics, inadequate public and private sector policies and neighborhood deterioration in the City of Detroit. The film, however, speaks to a much wider audience of community leaders who are charged with decision making to support local prosperity and quality of life.

This private screening of the film for city and town leaders is made possible through NLC’s collaboration with award-winning documentary filmmakers Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady, Active Voice, Detroit Public Television and the Independent Television Service (ITVS). Following the film, NLC will host a 30 minute web chat featuring views and opinions from Detroit locals and leaders in municipal government. Viewers are reminded to check the technical specifications required for the film, including using the latest version of your favorite web browser and Adobe Flash Player.
