Four of NLC’s constituency groups elected their 2014 leadership during the Congress of Cities and Exposition in Seattle. Constituency groups reflect the diverse interests and backgrounds of NLC's membership, and they work collaboratively with NLC to contribute to leadership development, policy formulation, advocacy and program activities.
NLC’s largest constituency group, the National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials (NBC-LEO) elected Councilmember Adam McFadden of Rochester, N.Y. to serve as their 2014 president at their annual business meeting. Councilmember Jacquelyn E. Johnson of East Orange, N.J. will be the group's immediate past president.

Councilmember Mildred Crump of Newark, N.J. was elected as the 2014 president of the Women in Municipal Government (WIMG) constituency group at the group's annual leadership luncheon. Mary Brown, councilmember, Gary, Ind. will serve as the group's immediate past president.
