The Points of Light Institute has announced the release of a Request for Proposals for the Community Blueprint Corps, a national service program dedicated to serving veterans by focusing on collaboration, job readiness and community engagement.

Communities that are looking to increase collaboration and coordination of services to better serve veterans and their families are encouraged to apply.  Likewise, communities that have heard about the Community Blueprint but are looking for the dedicated  human resources to make it happen should apply.

The Community Blueprint Network, brings together community leaders, individuals, government agencies and nonprofits to bring collaborative, integrated solutions to address the most common challenges facing veterans and military families, from unemployment to education to behavioral health, housing, and reintegration. Volunteers, including veterans themselves, are the power behind the Blueprint. The Community Blueprint is the only national, scalable approach developed by a coalition of over 55 veteran and military-serving organizations nonprofits and government agencies focused on serving our nation's military men and women and their families.

Points of Light using the community solutions outlined in the Community Blueprint has been awarded 75 AmeriCorps National Direct members to serve and engage veterans in service. Points of Light will work with communities to leverage Corps members in new and strategic ways to address the job readiness needs of veterans.
