Strengthening & promoting cities as centers of opportunity, leadership, and governance

City-Schools Youth Planning Initiative - Phase Two

Cities are encouraged to apply for a new technical assistance project sponsored by the YEF Institute on the implementation of comprehensive agendas or plans for children and youth.  Proposals are due by Aug. 10, 2007.

These plans may focus on specific issue areas, or may be community-wide youth master plans.  Supported by the MetLife Foundation, the project will offer access to national experts on city-school partnerships, youth development and youth master planning, networking opportunities with municipal leaders from other project cities, and customized assistance from the YEF Institute.  Strategies for engaging school officials and other youth will receive particular attention during the project.

Four to six cities will be competitively selected by the Institute to participate.  Contact Leon Andrews at (202) 626-3039 or andrews@nlc.org with questions.
