Strengthening & promoting cities as centers of opportunity, leadership, and governance

Transitional Jobs Project 2005-06

In 2005-06, the YEF Institute helped seven cities design transitional jobs programs, which are paid, temporary employment with wrap-around services for people with significant barriers to work.  These cities included:

  • Boston, Mass.;
  • Indianapolis, Ind.;
  • Las Vegas, Nev.;
  • Newark, N.J.;
  • Oakland, Calif.;
  • Peoria, Ill.; and
  • Scranton, Pa.

These cities will receive ongoing support and technical assistance from national experts from the National Transitional Jobs Network, the Center for Employment Opportunities, and the Transitional Work Corporation.
