Dropout Prevention and Recovery

City leaders can help prevent students from dropping out, reengage those who have dropped out, and expand options for students who struggle in traditional high school settings.

Employment Strategies

In recent years, youth employment rates have fallen to historic lows.  City youth employment efforts are vital to building a skilled workforce and safe neighborhoods.

Foster Care Transitions

City leaders can work with other local agencies to connect youth in transition to vital education, employment, housing and health services.

Homeless Youth

Recognizing that youth who are on the street are particularly vulnerable, cities are helping homeless youth find immediate shelter, transitional housing, employment and other supports.

Juvenile Justice

Municipal officials can work with county and state agencies to intervene with youth on probation and facilitate the reentry of young people involved in the criminal justice systems both pre- and post-release.
