Founded in 1972, ICMA-RC is a non-profit independent financial services corporation focused on providing retirement plans and related services for more than a million public sector participant accounts and approximately 9,000 retirement plans. Our mission is to help build retirement security for public employees. We deliver on our mission by focusing on service, quality and value. All of our retirement programs, administrative services and educational tools have been developed specifically for public sector retirement plan administrators and participants.
Under the leadership of ICMA-RC's President and Chief Executive Officer, Joan McCallen, the ICMA-RC Vantagepoint Public Employee Memorial Scholarship Fund has led efforts to further the education of more than 250 children and spouses of public sector employees who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The fund has provided more than $860,000 in scholarships for survivors since its inception in 2001.
Throughout the country, our associates commit their time and service to local communities. ICMA-RC associates sponsor food and clothing drives for the homeless, participate in tutoring programs, volunteer at local community events, assist with financial education at public schools and provide support in local disaster and emergency situations.
We are a founding corporate sponsor of the International Hispanic Network, and an active corporate sponsor and partner of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators. ICMA-RC received the Corporate Award from the National Forum for Black Public Administrators, recognizing its commitment to supporting professional local government managers.
