Edison International is the parent company of Southern California Edison and Edison Mission Group. Southern California Edison (SCE) is one of the largest electric utilities in California, serving more than 14 million people in a 50,000 square-mile area of central, coastal and Southern California, excluding the City of Los Angeles and certain other cities.
Edison invests significant resources in developing and nurturing partnerships with community-based organizations in SCE's service territory (PDF) through targeted philanthropic giving in three areas of priority: Education, the Environment and the Underserved. Grants and contributions are funded by the shareholders of Edison International, and not by utility customers of Southern California Edison. In 2010, $16.6 million was invested in our communities.
