Resources for Cities

Corporate Citizenship

March of Dimes: CIGNA has been a proud national sponsor of March for Babies for 17 years. Every year, CIGNA employees walk with their friends and families in dozens of cities to raise money for the March of Dimes.

Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation: Because women's health is one of our core concerns, CIGNA is a long-time supporter. Komen is the nation's largest private funder of research dedicated solely to eradicating breast cancer. Recognizing their leadership, CIGNA and its employees have donated over $640,000 to Komen since 2000.

Martin Luther King, Jr.: CIGNA has a long history of support for Martin Luther King, Jr.'s legacy. For 17 years, we have sponsored the Philadelphia Orchestra's annual tribute concert to Martin Luther King, Jr., making it possible for the public to attend at no charge. We were also quick to commit $1 million to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Healthy Kids Challenge: CIGNA is a national sponsor of the Healthy Kids Challenge. We joined forces to develop and cobrand programs that drive behavioral change among elementary-age kids and their families in an effort to increase healthy eating choices and physical activity.

CIGNA Health Awareness Tour Mobile Learning Lab: The CIGNA Health Awareness Tour Mobile Learning Lab has traveled the country promoting the importance of health awareness. At each stop, the Mobile Learning Lab raises awareness and opens new dialogues about the importance of health in our workplace, in our schools and in our communities. Through the Mobile Learning Lab, people learn about deteriorating health in the United States and begin to consider the social and environmental issues that may be impacting health. Visitors have the opportunity to learn about health and explore how health impacts the greater community.

United Way®: CIGNA offices across the country raised $1,329,354 for local United Way organizations in 2009.

Giving Back: In 2009, CIGNA employees volunteered more than 16,200 hours and donated just under $2 million to various charitable organizations and programs.
