Scholarships Help City Officials and Staff Attain MPA or MPH Degrees Online

NLC University has developed exciting new partnerships to offer $5,000 per person scholarships to NLC members (including state municipal league staff) who are interested in advancing their career in the public sector through an online Master in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina (MPA@UNC) or Master of Public Health degree from The George Washington University (MPH@GW) and are accepted into one of these programs. Both academic institutions will also provide valuable academic resources – including written resources and webinars – to NLC members.

Authentic Youth Civic Engagement: Developing Young Leaders

NLC’s Institute for Youth, Education and Families offers guidance to city leaders interested in engaging youth in meaningful ways. In addition, young people have the opportunity to attend NLC’s national conferences as youth delegates at a reduced rate. Youth (ages 15-18) can also apply to serve as members of NLC’s Council on Youth, Education and Families.
