The National League of Cities is partnering with the Center on Wisconsin Strategy and the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy's (ACEEE) to present a webinar on ACEEE'S City Energy Efficiency Scorecard report. This first edition report ranks many of the most populous U.S cities on their policies and actions to advance energy efficiency in buildings, transportation and local government operations.
Local leadership and commitment to energy efficiency continue to grow stronger as a result of increasing recognition that efficiency can serve a myriad of critical interests. Local communities are learning that investments in energy efficiency can save money for households, businesses and local governments; reduce the costs and risks of critical infrastructure investments; create jobs; improve the environment; and gain them recognition on a national stage. This webinar session will cover which cities are top achievers in efficiency and why. It will also provide examples of best practices being taken by leading cities in various policy areas and cover actions that local governments of all kinds can take to improve efficiency and their scores in future editions of the Scorecard.
