The National League of Cities' two annual conferences provide educational programming, training opportunities, and peer networking. They also provide the venue for NLC's goverance activities including the meetings of the Board of Directors, Advisory Council and other NLC committees and councils.
NLC's premier gathering of city officials, the Congress of Cities is held each year in November or December in a selected city. The conference provides educational content on the most pressing challenges facing city leaders. Conference attendees hear from prominent speakers and issue experts, participate in leadership training sessions, attend issue-specific workshops, mobile workshops, and leadership training sessions.
The 2013 Congressional City Conference, to be held March 9-13, 2013 in Washington D.C., offers opportunities to hear from respected national figures, network with other city leaders, participate in innovative workshops, learn new skills and lobby on Capitol Hill.
