APTA to Hold High Speed Rail Seminars
by Leslie Wollack
Last year, Congress provided $8 billion for the development
of high speed rail in the United States. The
American Public Transit Association will hold three regional seminars next
month to share information from other countries with experience on implementing
high speed rail.
The seminars will focus
on best practices and lessons learned in Europe and Asia. Sessions will be held in Washington, D.C. (February
8-9), Chicago (February 9-11) and Los Angeles (February 11-13).
Please contact NLC if you are interested in attending any of
these sessions.
For more information, go to www.apta.com/mc/conferences/allother/Pages/HighSpeedRailMainPage.aspx. If you are making decisions on high speed rail in your
community, NLC wants to hear from you to share best practices. Please contact Julia Pulidindi at (202) 626-3176
or Pulidindi@nlc.org.
