Strengthening & promoting cities as centers of opportunity, leadership, and governance

The City Showcase is an annual exhibition of successful, creative programs from cities and towns across the country.  Each year, the Showcase is held at the National League of Cities' annual Congress of Cities and Exposition. This is NLC's biggest conference of the year, attracting more than 4,000 of the nation's city officials.

The 2008 City Showcase will take place at the Congress of Cities and Exposition in Orlando, Florida, from November 11-15, 2008.

The City Showcase is presented by city leaders, for city leaders.  Its focus is municipal city programs, allowing mayors, councilmembers, and city staff to network and exchange ideas in a relaxed, self-paced environment.  Colorful booth displays, literature, and especially the experts staffing the City Showcase booths are there to provide a wealth of information about the programs.

Cities and towns chosen to participate in the City Showcase are small and large, rural and urban, from all corners of the United States - they reflect the diversity of NLC membership as well as the nation.  City programs may focus on economic development, neighborhood revitalization, public safety, youth, public works, human services, environment, and recreation, just to name a few.  Prior year's City Showcase participants illustrate the broad range of programs and diversity of cities and towns highlighted.
