NLC launched the National Municipal Network for Community Conversations on Race Relations, Justice and Equity. The national network is an opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of how cities can take on new efforts to sustain community conversations as a strategy to advance racial equity and racial healing, strengthen existing work and address barriers and challenges. Being part of a national peer learning network will provide access to best practices and to learn about other communities and what is working for them. The focus of the national network is to build leadership to support the city’s capacity and action towards broad structural change, via a racial equity plan, to address the root causes of institutional and structural racism in city government and will include collaboration with community members and other local stakeholders. This network is open to the broad NLC network.
