INFORMATION SERVICES TECHNICIAN: The National League of Cities is seeking an experienced technician to be responsible for the daily mailing list, customer service, and fulfillment activities; responding to internal and external requests for mailing lists and customized reports; performing data entry and maintenance; utilizing intermediate SQL and database report writing skills, assuring the integrity and quality of the data as it is collected, entered, and maintained in the association management system. Data entry and quality control activities are vital components of this job. Requires two years of college level training in computers and database combined with two years database maintenance and management experience. Experience with a computerized association management software package (Avectra netForum is preferred), database report writing (Crystal is preferred), structure query language (SQL) software, experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. SENIOR EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: The National League of Cities is seeking an experienced executive assistant to oversee all administrative operations in the Executive Office, provide administrative support to key policy-making/leadership bodies including the NLC Officers, Board of Directors, and the Nominating Committee, and serve as a senior assistant to the Executive Director. Performs high level executive secretarial duties including taking dictation; writing routine correspondence, travel arrangements, scheduling, processing expenses and meeting planning and coordination. Requires minimum ten years progressively responsible senior administrative experience, at least five years of which must have been supporting an executive level position, formal secretarial training and bachelor?s degree preferred or a combination of education and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Excellent oral and written communications skills; considerable knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and grammar; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with members, representatives of other organizations, government officials, and staff at all levels; demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise excellent judgment.
