| NLC to Announce Awards for Municipal Excellence Winners at Conference |

The winners of the 2006 Awards for Municipal Excellence, which identifies and showcases outstanding city and town programs that improve the quality of life in America?s communities, will be announced at the Congress of Cities and Exposition in Reno, Nev., Dec. 5-9.
The eight winning cities will participle in an awards presentation during one of the general sessions. News of their victory will be shared with local and national media sources.
Attendees of the general session will watch a video depicting the winning programs, and conference participants can also visit the winning cities at their booths at the City Showcase to learn how they can replicate the programs.
NLC?s website, www.nlc.org, and Nation?s Cities Weekly will provide daily and weekly in-depth coverage of the winning programs. |
