2008 Congress of Cities and Exposition
Leadership Training Institute Seminars

Two full days of specialized leadership training precede the official opening of the 2008 Congress of Cities. Leadership Training Institute Seminars allow elected official to organize their professional development around critical skills necessary for effective leadership.  The program is built around the five core leadership competencies for elected officials: Cornerstone, Competent Practitioner, Communicator, Collaborater and Catalyst.  The seminars are offered in addition to the main Congress of Cities workshops, and additional fees and registration are required.

Certificate of Achievement in Leadership Program

As part of the National League of Cities ongoing commitment of recognizing and acknowledging excellence in leadership, the Leadership Training Institute (LTI) has developed the Certificate of Achievement in Leadership Program.  Local elected officials participate in a variety of leadership development programs and activities offered by LTI to earn a Certificate of Achievement which includes seminars at the Congress of Cities.
